Yes, I want to be in the parade.

This past July 1st, the fun & friendly town of Madeira made a sound heard around the world. The City of Madeira, Ohio, in celebration of its "back-to-back" ranking as the #1 Community (Cincy Magazine – June 2011) in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, knows the only REAL way to celebrate is to grab the cow by the horns, or rather, by the COWBELL!

In the recognition of the city's "back-to-back" #1 ranking, the Mayor declared July 1st "Cowbell Awareness Day".

Over a thousand people set the Guinness World Record for the Largest Cowbell Band! The Band performed in conjunction with Madeira's Independence Day Celebration on Friday July 1st, 2011. (… the cowbells were "Liberty" Cowbells).

We came. We saw. We Cowbelled… and now Madeira is the official Cowbell Center of the Universe.

Why did we do this? Because had a fever, and the only prescription was More Cowbell! Besides, the last time we checked, there aren't a lot of towns that have a World Record featuring the Cowbell.

Now that Operation Cowbell has been completed with a resounding success, we can say with certainty that … Y'all are wearing gold plated diapers!

Here is the Commemorative T-shirt we had planned to mark the event. If there was enough interest, we could still make it happen. Please sign up if you're interested in purchasing a shirt for $10.00

Cowbell Band

From 8 to 1008. As you can see, the Original Band of Eight members had an explosive expansion to over 1000 cowbellers.
